| TOP TEN TUESDAY | Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

This Top Ten Tuesday edition is a tough one, I think. Because I s*ck at making TBR stacks and hold myself to them haha. There are always other books coming in between, sigh. But, I’ll try to make one anyway. But since I have like 200+ unread books – printed and digitally – it’s almost impossible to narrow it down to a list of 10 books, lol.

It always depends on my mood as well, as to which books I want to read. And aside from that, I’ve got a lot of books on the Christmas wishlists as well and since I don’t know which books I’ll be receiving. it kind of makes it even more impossible for me to make a Winter tbr, lol. But okay, I’ll make a list of books I want to read that are Already in my possession at the moment….

From Young adult fantasy to paranormal romance and contemporary romance. I’ve got a lot of unread books, as I said, so there’s quite a variety to choose from, so a lot of genres will be spoken of in this Top Ten Tuesday edition. Are you curious to see which books are on my Winter tbr? Read on…

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists.
Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers over at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All they ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post and, if you want to, add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s posts (typically put up midnight EST on Tuesday) so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

STRANGE THE DREAMER by LAINI TAYLOR (#1 Strange the Dreamer)

Just as Annemieke, this book is on my Winter TBR stack. I’ve had the book in pre-order for months before it’s release but I still haven’t gotten around to read it yet even though it’s been months now since it’s release. Taylor is one of my all-time favorites – which isn’t something you could’ve missed when you read my blog on a regular basis, lol I fangirl like crazy – and I am so extremely excited about this book! But why didn’t I read it yet you ask? Well.. I’ve been having trouble concentrating on my books in the past months and Taylor’s writing is always something you have to give yourself to for 110% percent I think. And I’m a mood reader. I have to be in ‘the right kind of mood’ when starting a new read and my time hasn’t come yet for this one. But I really plan on reading it this winter! I’m really excited about it! Hopefully, my expectations aren’t too high, but I think Taylor can handle those anyway, lol. I don’t think she’ll ever disappoint me with that writing talent she has going on. Can’t wait to dive into this magical dream world!

How on earth is it possible I still haven’t read it? No idea, lol. I’ve had the book since it’s release and just before I also saw the DC movie which blew me awaaaay. So I was extremely excited to read this book, EXTREMELY excited. But I still ended up with the book being unread on my shelves – fail. I really hope I get around to reading it this Winter!! Wonder Woman is one of my most favorite characters within the DC and MARVEL universes combined. Just EPIC. And from what I’ve heard so far about this book; only very good thinks so.. hdbfaghjbdfghbdfg

ICE LIKE FIRE by SARA RAASCH (#2 Snow like Ashes)

It’s been quite a while since I’ve read the first book in this trilogy, Snow like Ashes. I really enjoyed the book and even though I had the second book at the ready, I still haven’t read it. In the meantime, I got the third book as well, lol. So much time has passed already with me not finishing this trilogy. I really liked reading about Meira in this really awesome magical setting. Can’t wait to see how the story unfurls in the second installment!

I’ve read the Great Hunt somewhere last year and I LOVED it so much! I’ve put in a pre-order for the sequel asap and had the book ever since it’s release. And I still haven’t read it – fail. I really want to read this sequel because I want to know how the story continues. I’m debating whether or not I should re-read the previous one first or if my current knowledge of the first book will be enough – it’s been a while since I’ve read it and some details might’ve been forgotten. But well, Winter has to start yet, so I got some time, right? lol.  I fell in love with duologies over the last year or so and can’t wait to check this duology off my to-read/finish-list.

I’ve only recently bought this book. It was on my wishlist for months and I finally got around to buy it, but again; haven’t read it yet. Yeah, otherwise it wouldn’t turn up on this list, right? lol. But I really like stories about Jack the Ripper. I love re-tellings, so a combination of both; it sounds so promising! I really can’t wait to read this one!!

I really wanted to add some digital books to this list as well. Because even though I haven’t gotten them in print yet – which mostly is because most of them are e-arcs and aren’t even in print yet, for example, haha – it doesn’t mean I want to read them any less then I do with printed editions. I got a lot of digital copies of books I desperately want to read, and definitely want to finish this Winter, so let me show you:

I received this e-arc from the Publisher, through Netgalley. I’ve already heard great things about this book and the synopsis sounds so freaking amazing! This is definitely a book I want to read very soon! It’s due to publish on May 10th 2018.

I came across this one via NetGalley and already read a couple of awesome reviews on the book, so I couldn’t resist getting this baby. Sounds like a lovely in-between-read, perfectly designed to read in winter times, don’t you think? It’s one of my anticipated December releases so I’m very thankful for receiving an e-arc and if the book is to my liking, I’ll definitely buy it in printed edition as well.

I was recently looking for some Winter/Holiday reads and this was one of the books I came across that sounded like a really fun read. I can’t wait to read this one while curled up on the couch with a blanky and some hot cocoa/tea/coffee. Do you like reading Christmas/Holiday books this time of year? Or do you read them all year around?

This one ‘called’ to me immediately. That cover is so lovely and it promises a great NY/Holiday setting which gets my heart going hehe. The synopsis sounds really good I think and I can’t wait to dive into this Young adult contemporary romance story! Sounds like a perfect Winter/Holiday read!

This book was gifted by the author after signing up for her newsletter. I’ve read ANOTHER POSTCARD by Elle earlier this year and fell in love with it! And ever since, I’ve been craving to read more by this author but I just haven’t gotten around to do it yet. But seeing she also wrote a paranormal romance book made me so freaking excited!! I mean, I loved her rock romance story in Another Postcard but I’m a sucker when it comes to romance and paranormal books. And knowing her writing already, is a cherry on top of the cake! Can’t wait to start this one!

So that’s my top ten at the moment. It can change any moment though with how indecisive I can be, lol. But I’m really excited for all these reads so they deserve being mentioned in this Top Ten Tuesday edition! I’d love to hear from you; have you read any of these books? What did you think of them?

What books are on your Winter TBR?

  1. Aaaaaah, I really really really need to read Wonder Woman: Warbringer, as I’m a massive Leigh Bardugo fan, and Strange The Dreamer! Although I feel like I should finish the Smoke and Bone trilogy first….

I’ve read Stalking Jack the Ripper in October, I enjoyed it but not as much as I was expecting unfortunately. I guessed the ‘twist’ before I even started the book haha.

Love all your pretty pics! Going to do a little photo shoot once I’m home today 🙂

Mehh that’s a shame to hear about Stalking Jack the Ripper 🙂 I have to say.. there honestly are a lot of books nowadays that feel predictable. Especially within the YA genre, I think. I sometimes can forgive predictability but often not so I’m really curious to see how I’ll experience the book!

And I really feel strongly about you finishing Dreams of Gods and Monsters before starting Strange the Dreamer haha. YOU NEED TO READ BOOK THREE BECAUSE, BECAUSE.. FBGHJDBFGHJBDFGJHBDFG

  2. My TBR lists are never set in stone, when I do them for bookstagram, the same books often turn up again and again! Strange the Dreamer is one of my fave books of this year though, I hope you enjoy it.

hahaha omg yes exactly that: they turn up again and again, lol. And omg you make me even more excited about Strange the Dreamer *squeeeeels*

  3. I really enjoyed “Wonder Woman”, the characters were great and the plot was interesting. There were definitely some events I did not expect.

  4. Aaah Ice Like Fire killed me but not in a good way, but I think I’ve mentioned that before, haha.

I hope we’ll both enjoy Strange the Dreamer this Winter.

haha omg yes I remember that indeed! But I enjoyed the first book so I want to read the rest as well. I’m curious now to see what I’ll think about it because I keep hearing more things about the second book not being what was expected of it, and not in a good way. Did you read book three?

aaah I’m really excited about WW, even more so now after I’ve seen Justice League yesterday and I’ve watched Gal Gabot kick some ass again haha. She’s so good in her WW performance I think, damn <3

And I'm really curious to see what I'll think about StD as well and what you'll think as well. Let me know when you've read it? xD
