It’s time for a new sneak peeks in my endless TBR stack in this TBR THURSDAY article! In last weeks edition, I showed you guys two books that have been on my shelves unread for quite a while now but I’m very excited about to reading. Today I picked two TBR books

In this article – which I want to publish every Thursday – I’ll be highlighting a title from my shelf (or eReader) I haven’t read yet and I’m going to ask you guys what you think about it … Have you read it? Should I read it or put it back on the shelf?

I was looking for a new book meme article to post every Thursday and this one looked really nice. I love writing interactive articles in which you guys can leave comments and I’m really excited to read your comments about the books I’m going to show you in my TBR Thursday articles!

The first book I want to show you is one I’ve had on my shelves ever since it’s release: THE WRATH AND THE DAWN by RENEE AHDIEH.

One Life to One Dawn.

In a land ruled by a murderous boy-king, each dawn brings heartache to a new family. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, is a monster. Each night he takes a new bride only to have a silk cord wrapped around her throat come morning. When sixteen-year-old Shahrzad’s dearest friend falls victim to Khalid, Shahrzad vows vengeance and volunteers to be his next bride. Shahrzad is determined not only to stay alive but to end the caliph’s reign of terror once and for all.

Night after night, Shahrzad beguiles Khalid, weaving stories that enchant, ensuring her survival, though she knows each dawn could be her last. But something she never expected begins to happen: Khalid is nothing like what she’d imagined him to be. This monster is a boy with a tormented heart. Incredibly, Shahrzad finds herself falling in love. How is this possible? It’s an unforgivable betrayal. Still, Shahrzad has come to understand all is not as it seems in this palace of marble and stone. She resolves to uncover whatever secrets lurk and, despite her love, be ready to take Khalid’s life as retribution for the many lives he’s stolen. Can their love survive this world of stories and secrets?

I kind of feel ashamed for not having read this book because most people around me have read the book already haha. Ever since reading Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton I’ve been wanting to read more books with Arabian elements in them and this book was my first purchase after finishing Rebel of the Sands. But somehow I just still haven’t gotten around to reading it. There where new books coming in between and I just kept putting reading this one off for some reason.

I’m still really excited to read it though but now – since the sequel is out for a while too – I want to wait until I got the sequel too. Because if this book is as good as everyone says, I probably want to read book 1 and 2 back to back. And there’s nothing more horrific than knowing there’s a sequel out there and not being able to start it when you’ve finished the first book.

the Second book is one I’ve also have since it’s release but just never gotten around to reading it yet; FREEKS by AMANDA HOCKING.

In a world of magical visions and pyrokinesis, Mara just wants to have a normal life. But is that possible?

Mara has become used to the extraordinary. Roaming from place to place with Gideon Davorin’s Traveling Carnival, she longs for an ordinary life where no one has the ability to levitate or predict the future.

She gets her chance when the struggling sideshow sets up camp in the small town of Caudry and she meets a gorgeous local guy named Gabe. But before long, Mara realizes there’s a dark presence lurking in the town that’s threatening the lives of her friends. She has seven days to take control of a power she didn’t know she had in order to save everyone she cares about—and change the future forever.

So far, I’ve read the trylle trilogy and the canin chronicles by Amanda and I really liked them. Amanda has an amaaazing talent when it comes to creating really awesome worlds and that’s definitely what I love most about her writing. I’ve been wanting to read more by her for ages now but somehow her unread books – I also have Wake lying around, waiting to be read – keep sitting on my shelves, unread. I really hope I’ll get around to read them soon!

Have you read any of the books I’ve showed? LOVE to hear from you!!

  • Name a title that’s been on your TBR for ages now, that you’ve wanted to read badly but just haven’t gotten around to reading yet.
