| BuJo | Bye October, Hello November!

It’s been a while since I last wrote an article on my BuJo – Like August I believe, so damn.. – and I thought it was time I showed you guys my October spreads. I still have so much I want to show you guys and other stuff I want to write about when it comes to Bullet Journaling, but there’s always other stuff coming in between haha. But I’ll do my best to pick it up asap.

Not all of my October spreads are 100% finished but let’s overlook that a bit, okay? thank you haha. Here we go!

I want to start by showing you my First October page. I wanted to do a Halloween themed month this time, with some scary stuff spread throughout the month. My October page is provided with silhouette drawings of a castle, a small part of a graveyard, a ghost, a witch and some bats. I came across these elements while prowling on Pinterest and thought they would be perfect for my first October page. The fun part about drawing silhouettes is that you can disguise mistakes more easily because you only have to pay attention to the outlines. I definitely plan on doing more silhouettes in the future I think. My micron pens won’t be happy about it though, because it takes huge amounts of ink to do it, but well, too bad for them then hahaha.

  • Coloring pens: Stabilo 68

the Next thing I did was creating a MONTHLY PAGE, so I have a nice total-view of my month. It’s really helpful to look up when I need to know something asap. I’m really bummed out about using my Stabilo highlighter to color in the weekends. That was a lesson for me; no more highlighting entire weekends when you’re setting up monthly pages. I hate how it looks now :((. Aside from appointments I just drew some doodles here and there as fill-up in the page. With a theme like Halloween there are more then enough funny/cute doodles to draw, don’t you think?

Plans are nothing. Planning is everything.

I’m still having trouble finding my way with the weekly spreads. There still isn’t just 1 layout of which I’d say: THAT’S THE ONE. So I continue to use different layouts. And it also depends on my mood. Sometimes I just want to do more drawings instead of using a more simplistic design. Bottom line; I’m driving myself nuts hahaha. These are the ones I used in October:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0.8
  • pencil, ruler and eraser
  • Coloring pencils: Faber Castell classic colours

I always use the same space dividing in the bujo. I’ll do a weekly spread and the next two pages are for EXTRA STUFF, then there’s a new weekly spread, then again two extra pages, a weekly spread, and so on until the end of each month. I don’t know up front which extra’s I’ll be doing each month so it’s mostly a surprise to me as well right up until I start working on them, lol. The extra pages these month:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0.8
  • pencil, ruler and eraser
  • Coloring pencils: Faber Castell classic colours
  • Highlighter: Stabilo Boss lilac

And now it’s time to prepare for November! I’ve only done the MONTHLY PAGE for November so far and still need to get started on the weeklies and extra pages. Still looking for inspiration on what to do with everything. Thankfully there’s more than enough inspiration online. I’m a member of several Facebook groups and there’s a whole community on Instagram, so I’ll definitely be looking into those things some more very soon! And I’ll try to do another BuJo article at the end of November to show you guys what I came up with in the end.

So this is the basics for my November Monthly page. I still want to add some small illustrations here or there after I’ve decided on what kind of ‘theme’ I want to do. I really like the font I’m using, and I’ll stick to that one for a while I guess.

Did you have a particular theme in October in your BuJo? And what are you planning to do with the November layouts? Love to hear from you!
