I’m a bit late this time around with the Monthly Releases article but it was worth the wait I think because there are some gems coming our way in November that you need to add to your wishlist!! It’s going to be hard to choose which one I have to buy in the nearby future haha The new Michelle Hodkin book; definitely!
Curious to know which new YA releases and contemporary romance releases are coming our way? I made a selection of books I’d love to read myself. There’s so much out there releasing each month, that it’s not possible for me to show them all haha. So these are my own favorites.
THE FORTUNATE ONES by R.S. GREY
After reading Scoring Wilder by this author I’ve been aching for more books to read by this author. And since there’s a new book coming out on November 1st, it’s a great opportunity to add it to my never-ending wishlist haha. With 56 ratings the book scores an average of 4.52 which is really awesome. Can’t wait to read this one!
RELEASE DATE: November 1st
At Twin Oaks Country Club, there are the fortunate ones, and then there are the rest of us: the waiters, the caddies, the valets, and in my case, the cabana girls. Most days, I’m poolside in a pleated skirt, dishing out margaritas to tycoons and titans. It’s not exactly my dream job, but it does come with one perk…
He’s my silver lining in a custom black suit.
Besides being a legacy member at the club, he’s a tech mogul and Austin’s most eligible bachelor. Oh, and those dimples? Yeah, they make my stomach dip too.
On good days, I catch his sleek Porsche winding down the tree-lined drive. On better days, I steal a glimpse of his handsome profile as we pass in the hall. And on the absolute best day, I find him alone at the bar, looking for company.
“Come have a seat.”
Those four little words set me down a path I never could have imagined. Private planes, penthouse suites, and temptations around every corner make it impossible to keep my distance. His world feels decadent and wild—but overindulgence comes with a cost. Every kiss comes with strings. Every erotic encounter is a promise I’m not ready to keep.
When I pump the brakes, he hits the gas. James doesn’t want to go slow—he wants a commitment.
And the thing about the fortunate ones?
They’re used to getting what they want.
WHEN RAINS FALL by CASSIDY TAYLOR (#1 the Lost Fields)
Reading this synopsis makes me soo excited for this book! This one is definitely ending up very high on my wishlist. The story-line sounds just really awesome. Two girls, Two worlds and one Destiny collide… Yep, I’m intrigued.

That is, until she makes an unexpected ally who gives her hope there might be another way.

HOOKING UP by HELENA HUNTING
I’ve recently bought and read three books by this author and a fourth one is still waiting on the shelves to be read. Coming across this stand-alone makes me really excited. I can’t wait to read more of this author so this one is definitely making the wishlist.
RELEASE DATE: November 7th
Amalie Whitfield is the picture of a blushing bride during her wedding reception–but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of proclaiming his undying love, her husband can be heard, by Amalie and their guests, getting off with someone else. She has every reason to freak out, and in a moment of insanity, she throws herself at the first hot-blooded male she sees. But he’s not interested in becoming her revenge screw.
Mortified and desperate to escape the post-wedding drama, Amalie decides to go on her honeymoon alone, only to find the man who rejected her also heading to the same tiny island for work. But this time he isn’t holding back. She should know better than to sleep with someone she knows, but she can’t seem to resist him.
They might agree that what happens on the island should stay on the island, but neither one can deny that their attraction is more than just physical.
Filled with hilariously scandalous situations and enough sexual chemistry to power an airplane from New York City to the South Pacific, Hooking Up is the next standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy from Helena Hunting, the New York Times bestselling author of the Pucked series and Shacking Up.
THE BECOMING OF NOAH SHAW by MICHELLE HODKIN (#1 the Shaw Confessions)
Okay, so I haven’t gotten around to writing reviews on the Mara Dyer books yet, but let me tell you; that trilogy was soooo awesome!! And partly because of Noah’s presence hehehe. So when I heard Michelle was writing new stuff and this new stuff regarding Noah in particular.. Well, my fangirl heart almost exploded by the sheer amount of fangirl feels I felt right there and then. I’m planning on re-reading the Mara Dyer books one of these days, and then I want to read this new one right after it’s release. There are some reviews out there already and they’re very contradictive. A couple of readers who were disappointed by the book but I also see a couple of 4/5 star ratings and readers screaming at the top of their lungs about how good it is. So I’m really excited to find out for myself what I’ll think of it.
RELEASE DATE: November 7th
In the first book of the Shaw Confessions, the companion series to the New York Times bestselling Mara Dyer novels, old skeletons are laid bare and new promises prove deadly. This is what happens after happily ever after.

And both are scared that uncovering the truth about themselves will force them apart.
THIS MORTAL COIL by EMILY SUVADA (#1 this mortal coil)
When I saw this was a Science Fiction I already made the decision to add it to my wishlist haha. I’ve become addicted to YA sci-fi so there isn’t much needed to get me to add it to my wishlists. There are elements present that really hold my attention; people who are implanted with technology to recode their DNA for example. That sounds so creepy and awesome at the same time. With 169 ratings so far, the book scores a 4.47 on Goodreads, which is a great average rating number for a new release. This one is going to end up very high on my wishlist!
RELEASE DATE: November 7th
Catarina Agatta is a hacker. She can cripple mainframes and crash through firewalls, but that’s not what makes her special. In Cat’s world, people are implanted with technology to recode their DNA, allowing them to change their bodies in any way they want. And Cat happens to be a gene-hacking genius.
That’s no surprise since Cat’s father is Dr. Lachlan Agatta, a legendary geneticist who may be the last hope for defeating a plague that has brought humanity to the brink of extinction. But during the outbreak, Lachlan was kidnapped by a shadowy organization called Cartaxus, leaving Cat to survive the last two years on her own.
When a Cartaxus soldier, Cole, arrives with news that her father has been killed, Cat’s instincts tell her it’s just another Cartaxus lie. But Cole also brings a message: before Lachlan died, he managed to create a vaccine, and Cole needs Cat’s help to release it and save the human race.
Now Cat must decide who she can trust: The soldier with secrets of his own? The father who made her promise to hide from Cartaxus at all costs? In a world where nature itself can be rewritten, how much can she even trust herself?
HAVEN by MARY LINDSEY
Ahhh this sounds like an addictive romance read. And the romance is combined with paranormal elements so that makes me even more excited!! With 49 ratings the book gets a 4.47 on Goodreads which is a great average rating so far!
RELEASE DATE: November 7th

THE NOVEMBER GIRL by LYDIA KANG
I’ve come across this book multiple times now and the synopsis sounds so incredibly awesome! It sounds like it’d be my kind of book, so I can’t wait to buy and read this one!
RELEASE DATE: November 7th
I am Anda, and the lake is my mother. I am the November storms that terrify sailors and sink ships. With their deaths, I keep my little island on Lake Superior alive.
Hector has come here to hide from his family until he turns eighteen. Isle Royale is shut down for the winter, and there’s no one here but me. And now him.
Hector is running from the violence in his life, but violence runs through my veins. I should send him away, to keep him safe. But I’m half human, too, and Hector makes me want to listen to my foolish, half-human heart. And if I do, I can’t protect him from the storms coming for us.
JACOB’S LADDER: GABE by KATIE ASHLEY (#1 Jacob’s Ladder)
I’m a sucker for contemporary romance, especially involving military man, bikers, athletes and rockstars/singers. So when coming across this one by a, for me, unknown author, and reading this synopsis it had me hooked. I’m really curious about this read!
RELEASE DATE: November 7th
As the lead songwriter for Jacob’s Ladder, the last thing Gabe Renard needs is a debilitating case of writer’s block. After years of meaningless one night stands, he’s finding it hard to pen the love-filled ballads the label is requesting. In an effort to clear his mind, Gabe takes his jeep off-roading in the North Georgia Mountains. When a wrong turn leads to him getting stuck more than just creatively, he’s forced to call for help. To his surprise, the “Ray” who has been sent by Hart Wreckers to his aid is actually “Rae”—a sexy-as-hell spitfire in a pair of tight-as-hell jeans. The combination of Rae’s sassy mouth and rocking body might be the inspiration Gabe needs. But for the first time since becoming a rock star, his advances have been shot down.
Reagan Hart has never been a fan of musicians. In fact, just the mention of one might cause her to throw a tire tool. Her disgust for them started when she was just eight and her mother ran off with a traveling country singer, and it only worsened when at seventeen, her rocker boyfriend knocked her up before blowing out of town. As a single mother taking care of her family’s collision business, Rae doesn’t have time for hookups, much less a relationship. And if she did make time, a musician would be last on her list, even one as good-looking as Gabe Renard.
Can Gabe find the words to prove not only to Rae, but himself, that she’s the only one for him?
THE AUSTEN ESCAPE by KATHERINE REAY
This contemporary regency romance/chick lit sounds really great. I really like what the author’s done with this story-line and can’t wait to dive into this book. I don’t often read chick-lit anymore and plan on doing it more, so this one really sounds like a great add to the collection.
RELEASE DATE: November 14th
After years of following her best friend’s lead, Mary Davies finds a whimsical trip back to Austen’s Regency England paves the way towards a new future.
Mary Davies lives and works in Austin, Texas, as an industrial engineer. She has an orderly and productive life, a job and colleagues that she enjoys—particularly a certain adorable, intelligent, and hilarious consultant. But something is missing for Mary. When her estranged and emotionally fragile childhood friend Isabel Dwyer offers Mary a two-week stay in a gorgeous manor house in Bath, Mary reluctantly agrees to come along, in hopes that the holiday will shake up her quiet life in just the right ways. But Mary gets more than she bargained for when Isabel loses her memory and fully believes that she lives in Regency England. Mary becomes dependent on a household of strangers to take care of Isabel until she wakes up.
With Mary in charge and surrounded by new friends, Isabel rests and enjoys the leisure of a Regency lady. But life gets even more complicated when Mary makes the discovery that her life and Isabel’s have intersected in more ways that she knew, and she finds herself caught between who Isabel was, who she seems to be, and the man who stands between them. Outings are undertaken, misunderstandings play out, and dancing ensues as this triangle works out their lives and hearts among a company of clever, well-informed people who have a great deal of conversation.
THE CITY OF BRASS by S.A. CHAKRABORTY (#1 the Daevabad trilogy)
RELEASE DATE: November 14th
Step into The City of Brass, the spellbinding debut from S. A. Chakraborty—an imaginative alchemy of The Golem and the Jinni, The Grace of Kings, and One Thousand and One Nights, in which the future of a magical Middle Eastern kingdom rests in the hands of a clever and defiant young con artist with miraculous healing gifts
Nahri has never believed in magic. Certainly, she has power; on the streets of 18th century Cairo, she’s a con woman of unsurpassed talent. But she knows better than anyone that the trade she uses to get by—palm readings, zars, healings—are all tricks, sleights of hand, learned skills; a means to the delightful end of swindling Ottoman nobles.
But when Nahri accidentally summons an equally sly, darkly mysterious djinn warrior to her side during one of her cons, she’s forced to accept that the magical world she thought only existed in childhood stories is real. For the warrior tells her a new tale: across hot, windswept sands teeming with creatures of fire, and rivers where the mythical marid sleep; past ruins of once-magnificent human metropolises, and mountains where the circling hawks are not what they seem, lies Daevabad, the legendary city of brass–a city to which Nahri is irrevocably bound.
In that city, behind gilded brass walls laced with enchantments, behind the six gates of the six djinn tribes, old resentments are simmering. And when Nahri decides to enter this world, she learns that true power is fierce and brutal. That magic cannot shield her from the dangerous web of court politics. That even the cleverest of schemes can have deadly consequences.
After all, there is a reason they say be careful what you wish for . . .
RUNEBINDER by ALEX R. KAHLER (#1 the Runebinder Chronicles)
Fantasy, Magic.. And then that intriging cover and synopsis as well. Yep, this is a book that’s going on the wishlist! I’ve read very contradictive reviews on the book, so I’m curious to see what I’ll think of the book when the times come I can read it.
RELEASE DATE: November 14th

R.I.P. ELIZA HEART by Alyssa B. Scheinmel
This is a YA contemporary regarding Mental Illness. This is a subject I haven’t read much about so far, but I’m really interested in doing so. I’m suffering from Mental Illness myself, so therefore I’ve tried to keep a distance from books regarding several subjects like depression/suicide so far since I’ve not been doing well for a while, but I really want to add this one to my tbr someday. When reading a review of someone on Goodreads saying: “It is my belief that the main message in the book was to never be afraid or ashamed to ask for help. And that was done beautifully!”… That was exactly why I wanted to add this book to my tbr. I think it’s going to be a while before I’m reading to read such a ‘heavy’ book, but it’s definitely one I’ll add to my wishlist.
