Another month passed by and it went by so fast! A lot of things happened this month. Good things, ‘bad’ things and really awesome things. I’ve read A LOT – which I didn’t think beforehand would happen – and the blog-stuff went well most of the time too. Let me tell you more about what I was up to, what I’ve read, what I wrote for the blog and what I’m looking forward too in October! Today’s WRAP-UP time!
Since I’m working on my Melissa’s Monday Memories that’ll go online tomorrow, I’ve decided to hold back on the personal stuff in this article, since I’ll be talking more about that in tomorrow’s article. So today’s all about looking back on my bookish and blogging stuff of September and looking forward for October.
Like I said, I’ve read quite a bit this month. I’ve read a total of 18 books – a couple of them were short stories though, but still. I’ve read books from various genres, but this month my mood was mostly in need of romance reads, so I haven’t read a lot of fantasy, just like in August haha. I read some books of Sophie Jackson that I wanted to finish before the Interview and I finished a couple of books that I reviewed for blog-tours. And there were several book releases in September I’ve been waiting for, for quite a while. So when they released, they were read right away – like Tower of Dawn!!! Whoaaa that book was so freaking epic and may be one of the best books Sarah has written so far! I got an e-arc of book 3 in the Kingmaker Chronicles by Amanda Bouchet. The book isn’t due to release until January 18th so being one of the bloggers to read the book in advance is such an honor and it was an EPIC read! I’m so so sooo sad the author is done for now with this world and it’s characters but I’m really looking forward to see what she’s got in store for us next. Amanda is such a talented author and became one of my all-time favorites with these kingmaker chronicles books!
Looking back to everything I’ve read in September, I can’t be anything but happy. The amount of books I’ve read was enormous and I loved discovering a lot of new favorites throughout the month. A couple of books that were my absolute favorite reads this month were; Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas, Heart of Fire by Amanda Bouchet, Atlantis: the King’s Return by D.K. Combs, Running into love by Aurora Rose Reynolds, Hearts Unleashed by Paris Wynters and If there’s no Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I thought it would be fun to add my reading stats to the wrap up as well from now on.
Things like how many pages did I read, my average rating for the books read this month etc.
So, here we go 😉

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO.
Ooookay, where to start haha. There’s so much I’m looking forward to this month. Thor Ragnarok premieres this month, yay! Me and hubby got a ticket to go see it on October 25th and I’m soooo ready for this movie hehe! I’ve been waiting for what feels like ages. It looks really bad-ass and so different from what we’ve seen in the previous movies. Thor without a hammer? Thor with SHORT HAIR?!?!?! New characters and a whole other ‘feel’ to everything. I’m looking forward to the HULK moments and of course, of course there’s also LOKI!!! My favorite villain – next to the Joker, the Heath Ledger version – when it comes to MARVEL/DC COMIC villains. Bottom line: I’m really excited for this movie haha.
And book-wise..well.. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t had a couple of pre-orders ordered in the previous months that’ll come my way in October. And I wouldn’t have ordered them if I didn’t think they could be amazing reads. And I recently bough two new Helena Hunting books because I loved Clipped wings so much, and they will arrive this month as well. So yeah.. I’m really looking forward to receive those new beauties, yay!
And then there’s this thingy.. I’m going to meet one of my all-time favorite authors; Jennifer L. Armentrout on October 20th! And aside from going to her event I got invited by the Dutch publisher to do an interview with her and I still can’t believe that this is all happening, that I’m not dreaming all of it haha. I never would’ve believed I would be looking forward to this if you’d have said this to me a couple of years back, because I never thought she would come to the Netherlands one day, let alone me being able to do an interview with her, like O.M.G. This is multiple dreams coming true for me right there.. So yeah, that’s the highlight of October for me, definitely! And of course I’ll share the review with you guys afterwards!
And the Jennifer L. Armentrout event goes hand in hand with me spending some time with good friends as well. I’ll be meeting up with a lot of friends at the event and after the event I stay in a hotel with Kwante and we’ll spent the next day together in Utrecht as well. I’m extremely excited for this all and I’m counting down the days!
WHAT I WANT TO READ (TBR).
Even though I rarely hold myself to a TBR stack I prepare at the beginning of each month, I keep doing this anyway because I just really like to do this haha. Pick books I want to read and stack them up and look at them, getting myself excited to read em. Often enough my mood gets in the way and I end up reading a lot of other books, but still.. the period of time spent on organizing my TBR stack for each month is just fun to do. I’ve got so many awesome books lately which makes it really hard to choose what I want to read first.. Aside from printed books, I also added a lot of e-books to the collection as well. So I’ll make two lists now of books I want to read soon, really soon..
- Inked Armour & Fractured Ink by Helena Hunting (#2 & #3 Clipped Wings)
Well, since I loved Clipped Wings so much, I can’t wait to continue this series. Book three is already here and book 2 will arrive in a couple of days and I’m so excited, yay! So these two are a DEFINITELY when I think about my tbr for October.
- Without Merit by Colleen Hoover
Been looking forward to this book for months and months now and being a member of the Hoover group on facebook doesn’t help because I already read so many good things about the book and it makes me that more impatience now haha. This is a read I’m craving for, for months now so this is a DEFINITELY again when it comes to my October TBR haha.
- DEVILS & THIEVES by Jennifer Rush
This book has been put in pre-order months ago. I fell in love with the synopsis and with the awesome cover. Biker elements, fantasy elements.. I’m really excited! I really hope I get around to read this book in October!
And I’m planning on reading some Scary reads this month,
because well; HALLOWEEN!
Some books that are on my Halloween tbr:
- SHUTTER by Courtney Alameda
- The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich
- GIRL OF NIGHTMARES by Kendare Blake
Book 1 and 2 of the Aerial Ethereal series by Krista Ritchie
These were recommende to me by a friend of mine and she made me so extremely enthusiastic about the books that I immediately bought them via Amazon and now they’re waiting for me to read them on the kindle. These are definitely on my October tbr.
Darkest before Dawn by Amelia Hutchins (#1 Guardians Diary)
Well, it’s an Amelia Hutchins book haha. I can’t believe, seriously I just can’t, that I still haven’t started this series! I mean, Amelia is one of my favorites and I devoured her Fae chronicles book, her elite guard book and Playing with monsters. I really hate myself a bit for waiting with buying Darkest before dawn and reading it. So I really hope I’m getting the right mood this month to start this book!
Until November by Aurora Rose Reynolds (#1 Until)
I’ve recently read and reviewed Running into love by this author, which was my first book of the author, and loved it sooo much. And later I found out that I had this book, Until November, on my kindle as well for a while now. And since I wanted to read more of Aurora, I already found the perfect book to start with. It’s the first book in a contemporary romance series and the synopsis sounds so good. I’m really excited to read this book and hope I’ll get around to it this month.
Ready for Wild by Liora Blake
I received this book through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Well, the synopsis makes me incredibly enthusiastic to start this book. And since I’m in a contemporary romance mood the last couple of months I think this book is a perfect fit for me! So let’s see if I find the time to read and finish this book!
