| BUJO | Hello August!

It’s been a while since I published my first Bullet Journal article and I’ve wanted to do a new one ever since but with the help of some blog slumps and such I somehow never got around to finish a new article. Since blogging and reading are difficult for me at the moment – bad concentration, feeling depressed and such – I focused myself on my Bullet Journal. I’ve found new inspiration for new spreads and filling the journal up with drawings, spreads, trackers and more is good for my mind at the moment. Instead of getting behind with my spreads, I’m actually DONE for August already and I even started with my first September pages, whoopwhoop.

I thought I showed you guys my August pages and hopefully throw out some inspiration out there for you guys. A lot of things in my BuJo are created from inspiration I found online as well, but for August I actually came up with a lot of new things by myself. You ready? Here we go!

So, I always start a new month with a MONTHLY PAGE, a introduction of some sort to the new month. For August I wanted to do a Bohemian (BOHO) themed month so I decided to draw a Dream-catcher for the introduction page. I still want to color it, but for now I’m happy with the black/white as well.

ITEMS USED:

  • Notebook: Mijn Bullet Journal
  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.4 and 0.8
  • pencil & eraser

Next you find a SELF-CARE page, which I found via Pinterest and Instagram. I wanted to add more spreads related to my depression/anxiety issues and this was definitely one I felt like it should be in the bujo. I wrote down things I could do when I’m feeling down and such and I ‘verdeeld’ it into different subjects; NURTURE YOURSELF, ENGAGE YOUR BRAIN, CREATIVE and MOVE. So there’s always something to do for me regardless of what I’m looking for at the moment I’m in need of diversion. I’ve added a arrow doodle on the top of the page and a washi tape strip on the left.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.3, 0.5 and 0.8
  • Coloring pencils: Faber Castell classics
  • Washi Tape – bought via Aliexpress

My next page contains a MOOD TRACKER, which is the first one I’ve added to my Bullet Journal. I really love geometric designs so when I came across a geometric drawing of a pencil/feather I fell in love and decided this would be the one. The idea is to color each day the color that’s similar to your mood. Instead of using just 1 color I decided to blend multiple colors in each box because I experience more then one mood in one day.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.4, 0.5 and 0.8
  • Coloring Pencils: Faber Castell classics
  • Washi Tape – bought via Aliexpress

Now it’s time to show you my first WEEKLY SPREAD of the month and since I didn’t find any examples of BoHo weekly spreads I had to come up with them myself which was a bit more difficult as I expected beforehand haha. I’m not that creative to be honest and most of the time I draw from examples I find online. I still used a lot of doodles and such online for inspiration but the set up was all me haha.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black Pen: Pigma Micron 0.3 and 0.5
  • Colored Fine-liners: Stabilo pastel colors point 88 0.4
  • Washi tape – bought via Aliexpress

The next two pages consist EXTRA stuffI always do Extra pages in between weekly spreads. I wanted to do a TV SERIES spread for a while now and finally came up with a set-up I was content with. I decided to spread the TV SERIES throughout the BuJo so I would have enough space for all the series. This first tv series spread contains 4 series we’re currently watching; Game of Thrones, Modern Family, Suits and Arrow. And of course, the colored boxes are the Seaons/Episodes we’ve already watched. I’m still deciding on whether or not I should add a quote from each of the series but I’m also thinking that would be ‘too much’, you know? What do you think?

ITEMS USED:

  • Black Pen: Pigma Micron 0.4 and 0.8
  • Coloring Pencils: Faber Castell classics

Next there’s the second WEEKLY SPREAD which I set-up with some basic arrows and lines. Where I first resigned to extended drawings and coloring’s for the weekly spreads, I find drawing more black and white lay-outs to be more calming I think. And it isn’t as if I couldn’t draw anything anymore because I still have the Extra pages and I can still add doodles in the weekly spreads as well. But the complete coloring of the weekly spreads, which I did in the first weeks of the BuJo, isn’t doing it for me anymore I guess. Do you prefer a black/white/simple lay-out or more colors/drawings?

ITEMS USED:

  • Black Pen: Pigma Micron 0.4 and 0.5
  • Colored fine-liner: Stabilo point 88 0.4 pastel color

Up next are 2 extra pages, and the first one contains a lyrics from a song I came across online and I find the lyrics so strong and beautiful. Thought it would be a good idea to write them down – got the idea from someone in the Bullet Journal Mental Health group. I definitely plan on writing down some more lyrics in the future from favorite songs of mine.

On the other extra page I’ve drawn a HABIT TRACKER. Habit Trackers are ideal for motivating yourself to get things done. Somehow it just feels incredibly satisfying if you can color in/check off the box each day for the things you accomplished. You can use it to track your cleaning in and around the house, work related things, school related things, blog related things, personal health, etc. There’s so much possible with a habit tracker. I use it for personal health, cleaning the house, blog/social stuff and reading.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black Pen: Pigma Micron 0.4, 0.5 and 0.8
  • Colored fine-liner: Stabilo point 88 0.4 pastel color
  • Washi Tape

Then there’s the third WEEKLY SPREAD, which I kept fairly plain. I’ve drawn boxes for each day of the week and an extra box to write down ‘to do’ stuff. I’ve added a washi tape strip, two hand drawn dream-catchers and the Dream, Love, Laugh, Live texts.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.5 and 0.8
  • Colored fine-liner: Stabilo point 88 0.4 pastel color
  • Washi Tape

On the next extra pages I decided to write down my FUNKO POP WISHLIST and Milan wants to have some for himself as well so I’ve added a small wishlist for him too, lol. Now I only have to color the boxes after adding a new one to the collection and hopefully my hubby gets the hint as well when seeing this list hahaha.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.4 and 0.8
  • Coloring pencils: Faber Castell classics

Then there’s the fourth WEEKLY SPREAD, which I kept black and white again with lots of simple arrows. I think it’ll be a bit crowded/busy when I have to fill in my appointments and to do stuff and such but it was hard to come up with my own weekly lay-outs so I’m at least satisfied with the result of the blank lay-out haha.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.3 and 0.5

Now it’s time for some extra pages again and the first one is filled with some INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES. No further words necessary I think hehe. I’ve still got some blank space to fill but haven’t found the right quotes yet, so I’ll fill the page up when I find the right quotes. Still deciding if I should use colors for this page or If I should leave it like this.

Next is my GENERAL WISHLIST page which I tried to draw with some boho arrows/elements. I even got to check off a box already because my hubby surprised me with a new kindle e-reader this month!!!

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.4, 0.5 and 0.8
  • Washi Tape
  • Printed image

And then we’ve come to the fifth and last WEEKLY SPREAD, which only includes Monday – Thursday since Thursday is the last day of August. So in September I start the first weekly with Friday – Sunday. I went back to the design I used in the first weekly spread. There’s not much space to write down other stuff, but so be it haha.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.5 and 0.8
  • Coloring pencils: Faber Castell classics
  • Washi Tape

The last page of August contains a monthly MEMORY PAGE, in which I write down memorable stuff from this month. Which new books I got, things I did with the family and much more. Of course there’s still a lot of blank space at the moment but I’m sure it’ll be filled up by the end of the month. I really love adding a memory page at the end of each month. It makes flipping through my BuJo so much fun. I love seeing/reading those memories again when I’m doing a flip-through.

ITEMS USED:

  • Black pen: Pigma Micron 0.4, 0.5 and 0.8
  • Coloring Pencils: Faber Castell classics

So, that was a flip-through of the month August in my BuJo. I’ve already started doing first drafts on the first pages of September, which I want to fill with autumn inspired pages. I’m always looking for more inspiration online and such but I’d also love to hear from you guys! Is there anything you write down in your BuJo which you’d like to inspire others with? Let me know!

  1. I love you’re article and you’re blog. This is such a great idea. I can relate with you so much because I also have a lot of depression and anxiety since I have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and it’s hard to keep up with my new blog since I’m sometime’s to depressed to blog and I think a bullet journal could help me to know what make’s me happy and for my meds and stuff. Thanks for the great idea and I wish you so much strenght in your own battle.
