In this article – which I want to write every Thursday – I’ll be highlighting a title from my shelf (or eReader) I haven’t read yet and I’m going to ask you guys what you think about it … Have you read it? Should I read it or put it back on the shelf?
I was looking for a new book meme article to post every Thursday and this one looked really nice. I love writing interactive articles in which you guys can leave comments and I hope you’re going to like this article and I’m already excited to read your comments on the books on my TBR I want to show you guys.
The book I chose to start with in this first TBR THURSDAY article, is a book from one of my favorite authors: DREAMDARK; BLACKBRINGER BY LAINI TAYLOR!
When the ancient evil of the Blackbringer rises to unmake the world, only one determined faerie stands in its way. However, Magpie Windwitch, granddaughter of the West Wind, is not like other faeries. While her kind live in seclusion deep in the forests of Dreamdark, she’s devoted her life to tracking down and recapturing devils escaped from their ancient bottles, just as her hero, the legendary Bellatrix, did 25,000 years ago. With her faithful gang of crows, she travels the world fighting where others would choose to flee. But when a devil escapes from a bottle sealed by the ancient Djinn King himself, the creator of the world, she may be in over her head. How can a single faerie, even with the help of her friends, hope to defeat the impenetrable darkness of the Blackbringer?
At a time when fantasy readers have an embarrassment of riches in choosing new worlds to fall in love with, this first novel by a fresh, original voice is sure to stand out.
Laini Taylor writing about faeries?! omgg, I can’t wait to read this book! If you’ve already read something by this author you must get why she made my favorite authors-list because her writing is simply phenomenal. Her Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy is utterly amazing and I’m secretly a bit jealous of Laini for being able to create these amazing worlds and creatures and story-lines, because she has the best imagination everr.. Thankfully we get to enjoy it with her through reading her books. Despite me being excited, I still haven’t read the book. Why? Well..
1) I’ve got like 220+ unread physical books on my TBR
– don’t get me started on the e-books as well.
2) I’m a mood-reader and really need to be in a specific mood to pick up a specific book
I really hope I find the right mood to pick up this book in the nearby future.
When flipping through the book I came across some really really reaaaaly beautiful art, which I didn’t expect to find so that was a really nice surprise. They’re black and white illustrations of characters from the book and they’re utterly amazing, don’t you think? Can’t wait to find every illustration while reading the book.
What do you guys think; is this article something you want to see on the blog every Thursday? I’d love to hear what you think of it.
And of course I’d also love to hear;
– if you’ve read the book and if yes, what did you think of it?
Hope you have a lovely day!
