MISTS OF THE SERENGETI by Leylah Attar
I came across this book when I was visiting a new-found blogger I already love, Geybie’s book Blog, and the cover looked Intriguing enough to read the synopsis. With over 2000 ratings the book scores a rating of 4,49 stars which makes me even more excited to read this!
Once in Africa, I kissed a king…
“And just like that, in an old red barn at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, I discovered the elusive magic I had only ever glimpsed between the pages of great love stories. It fluttered around me like a newborn butterfly and settled in a corner of my heart. I held my breath, afraid to exhale for fear it would slip out, never to be found again.”
When a bomb explodes in a mall in East Africa, its aftershocks send two strangers on a collision course that neither one sees coming.
Jack Warden, a divorced coffee farmer in Tanzania, loses his only daughter. An ocean away, in the English countryside, Rodel Emerson loses her only sibling.
Two ordinary people, bound by a tragic afternoon, set out to achieve the extraordinary, as they make three stops to rescue three children across the vast plains of the Serengeti—children who are worth more dead than alive.
But even if they beat the odds, another challenge looms at the end of the line. Can they survive yet another loss—this time of a love that’s bound to slip through their fingers, like the mists that dissipate in the light of the sun?
“Sometimes you come across a rainbow story—one that spans your heart. You might not be able to grasp it or hold on to it, but you can never be sorry for the color and magic it brought.”
A blend of romance and women’s fiction, Mists of The Serengeti is inspired by true events and contains emotional triggers, including the death of a child. Not recommended for sensitive readers. Standalone, contemporary fiction.
UNTIL IT FADES by K.A. Tucker
K.A. Tucker is an auto-buy author. Everything I’ve read from her so far was utterly amazing and I can’t wait to read more! the book is due to release on June 26th. I haven’t put it in pre-order yet because I spent too much money already lately on books haha so therefore I put it on my wishlist! If you love contemporary new adult books with lots of angst and a heart wrenching romance, you really need to read K.A. Tucker!
Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania: population two thousand outside of tourist season.
And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed attempt at a relationship, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has saved: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.
Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works.
For a time.
But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. What begins as an immediate friendship quickly turns into something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something that Catherine is afraid to trust.
Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine…before the spark fades?
SWEET ADDICTION by J. Daniels (#1 Sweet Addiction)
This book/series was recommended by a friend of mine, Kaylee. Our tastes in books is very similar so when she told me this was something I’d really like, I didn’t doubt her for one second. So, yay, another series for the wishlist! I love reading contemporary romance with 18+ writing hehe..
Wedding hookups never amount to anything.
Those who partake in this wicked little activity know the rules. Get in. Get laid. Get out. There’s no expectation of a relationship. It is what it is.
Dylan Sparks knows the rules. She’s familiar with the protocol. And she engages in the best sex of her life with a complete stranger at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding.
Reese Carroll doesn’t care about the rules. He wants more than just one night with Dylan.
And Dylan finds him too addicting to pass up.
Sweet Addiction is the story of one woman’s struggle to keep things casual, and one man’s desire to never let her go.
THE DUET by R.S. Grey (a Heart Novel)
After reading Scoring Wilder by this author I’m determined to buy/read everything by this author. This is one of many I’d like to add to my shelves. I love reading contemporary novels which involve around music-elements, so this is definitely one I need to read asap. Have you read anything by this author?
When 27-year-old pop sensation Brooklyn Heart steps in front of a microphone, her love songs enchant audiences worldwide. But when it comes to her own love life, the only spell she’s under is a dry one.
So when her label slots her for a Grammy performance with the sexy and soulful Jason Monroe, she can’t help but entertain certain fantasies… those in which her G-string gets more play than her guitars’.
Only one problem. Jason is a lyrical lone wolf that isn’t happy about sharing the stage—nor his ranch—with the sassy singer. But while it may seem like a song entitled ‘Jason Monroe Is an Arrogant Ho’ basically writes itself, their label and their millions of fans are expecting recording gold…
They’re expecting The Duet.
No YA books or fantasy books in this Wishlist Wednesday edition. Instead, all of them are contemporary novels, whoops haha.
Do you have any contemporary recommendations for me? I love reading about military-related stories, music-related stories but in the end everything works for me if I love a book, so I’d really like to hear your own favorites with which I can expend my wishlist.
